The Lake County Captains (Cleveland Guardians High-A Affiliate) are excited to offer elementary and middle school teachers and their students the chance to become All-Star Readers and participate in our 2023 Reading Program. This program promotes literacy and reading comprehension in and out of the classroom for traditional and non-traditional K-8 schools.

The Captains Reading Program is a free, turn-key, incentive-based program that aims to help students discover the joys and rewards of reading. As students work towards their reading goals set by their individual educators, they will earn Captains prizes along the way. Last year, the Reading Program had readers from Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake Counties, with over 2,000 teachers and nearly 36,000 students participating.

Upon completing the program, students will be rewarded with a complimentary ticket to a Lake County Captains home game* Participating teachers will also receive a complimentary ticket.
